The Toyota GR Yaris is one of the finest hot hatches produced in recent memory and while it is hardly to fault, we do think Toyota could have spent a little more time making the design slightly more aggressive. Thankfully, aftermarket tuner Prior Design has the solution with its newly-released widebody kit for the car.
First presented a few months ago, the kit strikes the ideal balance between aggression and style and certainly isn’t as over-the-top as some of the tuner’s other creations. Modifications made to the car start at the front end where Prior Design has modified the standard bumper and equipped it with sharp aerodynamic dive plans and a more pronounced splitter. The tuner has also flared the front wheel arches and equipped this particular car with a set of aftermarket centerlock wheels that suit the Toyota perfectly.

Elsewhere, the upgrade package includes a new hood made from lightweight carbon fiber and complete with a massive scoop to help feed the 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder. The sides also look a little more extreme thanks to some new skirts.
Rounding out the upgrades are a series of changes made to the rear of the car. These include the fitment of a more pronounced spoiler stretching out from the roof, a small lip spoiler on the tailgate, flared rear wheel arches, and an overhauled rear bumper with a more aggressive diffuser.
As a reminder, the Toyota GR Yaris’s 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder pumps out as much as 268 hp and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque in certain markets. This engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission that sends power through all four wheels through a permanent four-wheel drive system. Further adding to the car’s impressive credentials are limited-slip differentials at both the front and rear.
