When we asked what the prettiest wagons were we didn’t expect this kind of response. Over 100 comments later we know what you like and surprisingly, very few older examples made the top five. Here’s a rundown of the most beautiful estate cars ever made according to you.
Honorable mention goes to the Holden Commodore Sportwagon and the original Ford Taurus wagon which each picked up 13 upvotes.

The Peugeot 508 SW and the super-rare Ferrari 456 GT Venice also received votes. Then there was a two-way tie for fourth so you’re really getting a bonus sixth entry here.
5. Audi RS6 Avant
And that entry goes to the wildly aggressive Audi RS6 Avant which I left off the initial list because, to my eyes, it’s less pretty than it is powerful. Nevertheless, it, along with our next two entries went 16-0 on the vote count.
4. Saab 9-5 SportCombi (YS3G)
When it comes to striking wagons, this one is clearly near the top of the pile. That C-pillar all by itself deserves some praise. It’s sad that Saab never managed to make a sales success out of the 9-5 SportCombi. It’s an incredibly balanced design and a very practical everyday car.
4. Alfa Romeo 159 SW
This slinky model before you was designed by none other than Italdesign-Giugiaro and it certainly looks the part. Instead of the bold and aggressive C-pillar we see on the Saab, the Alfa Romeo goes the other way and makes it seem as though this car is almost pillarless.
3. Opel Insignia
I’ll tell you right now that at no point did I ever guess that these next two entrants would make it here. The Opel Insignia is also the Buick Regal TourX here in the USA and while it’s certainly unique, it’s a look that hasn’t totally grown on me. Enough of you like it though as it went 19-0 in the scoring.
2. Volkswagen Arteon
Volkswagen really knocked the design of this Arteon wagon out of the park. Notice how the grille perfectly blends up and into the two belt lines and then finally terminates at the very back of the car. That’s about as cohesive as it could get.
1. Volvo V90
Combine all of the comments and votes about the V90 and it’s clear, most of you love it. In fact, some of you like it so much that you voted for it twice across multiple comments. Is it the tie to Volvo wagons of old? We can’t say but there’s no doubt that this is a pretty one.
