The Volkswagen Bus was embraced by hippies, but its successor is targeting the hipster generation. Those two worlds are now colliding with the one-off Glamper Van, which is based on the ID.Buzz.
Created by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the Glamper Van will debut at PennFest in England later this week and is billed as a “festival-ready” photo booth.
As part of this transformation, the electric van has been equipped with a bespoke interior that features artificial grass flooring and plant-covered walls. They’re joined by reflective discs and a sad looking couch with flower pillows. The company added the van has a camera with a “makeover filter to help visitors capture the festival atmosphere.”

The unique styling continues outside as the ID.Buzz wears a groovy, multi-colored wrap. It’s joined by prominent Glamper Van badging.
Volkswagen didn’t say much about the vehicle, but it builds on the popularity of last year’s Pamper Van. That model was based on the Multivan and debuted at the 2022 Cornbury Festival.
The Glamper Van is based on the short-wheelbase ID.Buzz, which features an 82 kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor developing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque. This setup enables the model to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 10.2 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h).
