Prices and specifications for the 2024 Honda CR-V have just been announced for the Australian market before sales kick off on September 1.

It’s been 12 months since the sixth-generation CR-V was first unveiled for the North American market and two months since it landed in Europe. Aussies will have seven different variants to choose from with prices kicking off from AU$44,500 ($29,798) and topping out at AU$59,900 ($40,111). Local dealerships are already accepting pre-orders for the new SUV.

Six of the seven available CR-V models come standard with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. While Australian specs of this engine haven’t been announced, the same engine is good for 190 hp at 6,000 rpm and 179 lb-ft (243 Nm) of torque between 1,700 and 5,000 rpm in the U.S. Sitting at the base of the range is the five-seat 2WD VTi X starting at AU$44,500 ($29,798) while those with a slightly larger budget can opt for the more well-equipped five-seat 2WD VTi L that’s priced from AU$48,800 ($32,678).

The 2024 CR-V range then includes two seven-seat versions in the form of the AU$46,800 ($31,338) VTi X7 and the AU$53,000 ($35,490) VTi L7. Rounding out the selection of 1.5-liter models are the five-seat AWD VTi L from AU$51,300 ($34,352) and the five-seat AWD VTi LX starting at AU$57,000 ($38,169).

Sitting at the top of the range is the Honda CR-V e-HEV RS sold exclusively as a five-seater. This model has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder working alongside two electric motors to produce a combined 204 hp and 247 lb-ft (335 Nm) of torque in North American specification. Prices for this model start at AU$59,900 ($40,111) but it will be available for state-based rebates in Australia, reducing that price.

“For the first time in Australia, we will be launching the all- new CR-V with an e:HEV Hybrid powertrain,” Honda Australia director Carolyn McMahon said in a statement. “This addition to Honda Australia’s line up will strengthen our hybrid offering and provide customers even more choice when considering their next Honda purchase. Honda’s e:HEV hybrid powertrain has become increasingly popular across the Accord, Civic, Honda ZR-V and HR-V ranges, delivering a dynamic combination of performance and efficiency.”
