After 3 years, the Toyota Land Cruiser has finally returned to America in the form of a rugged Lexus GX-based off-roader. And despite the SUV just breaking cover less than a week ago, digital artists have already been having their way with it.

He begins by (obviously) shortening the wheelbase, followed by a greenhouse delete for the convertible aspect. He then added in the rollbar from a Wrangler, then recolored it to match the Land Cruiser’s yellow paint. Atop this rollbar, the removable roof from a Wrangler was also added. This process was then repeated for the rear end, including the rollbar and roof, even going so far as to add the Wrangler’s rear seats. The tailgate-mounted spare tire from the Wrangler was added as well, but not without swapping the Jeep’s wheel design with the Toyota‘s.

Overall, the renderings came out stunning, and it has us desperately wanting a 2-door convertible Land Cruiser, no matter how unlikely it would be.
