Honda Performance Development (HPD) has taken the wraps off their latest race car and it’s pointier than usual. There’s a good reason for that as it’s the Acura Integra Type S DE5.
Designed to compete in the “premier TCX class of the SRO TC America championship,” the race car closely resembles the road-going model. However, it has been equipped with a ventilated composite hood, an adjustable rear wing, and 18-inch forged wheels. The latter are backed up by AP Racing brakes and six-piston calipers up front, while OEM components reside out back.
The changes continue in the stripped out cabin as the model has a roll cage and an OMP racing seat with a six-point harness. They’re joined by a Motec C127 dash logger / digital instrument cluster, an on-board fire suppression system, and a quick disconnect steering wheel that provides easy access to key controls and settings.

Power is provided by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that features new mounts, a Motec M1 ECU, and a HPD/Borla downpipe and turbo back exhaust. Thanks to these changes, the engine develops up to 360 hp (268 kW / 365 PS) and 340 lb-ft (460 Nm) of torque.*
The engine is connected to a six-speed sequential transmission and sends power to the ground via an adjustable limited slip differential from HPD and Cusco. Other highlights include a 16 gallon (60.6 liter) FIA FT3 fuel cell as well as an upgraded cooling system that includes a HPD radiator, intercooler, and auxiliary oil coolers.
Last but not least, the model has been equipped with a track-focused suspension that has adjustable front camber and caster plates as well as inverted double adjustable dampers. Out back, there’s an HPD/RV6 adjustable stabilizer bar and “upgraded HPD/RV6 rear lower arms for race spring rates and positive toe adjustment.”
Honda Performance Development is currently accepting pre-orders with a $25,000 deposit. The company also said they’re seeking to get the car approved for Sports Car Championship Canada racing.
