Mullen Automotive is looking to make a name for itself with a high-performance take on its handsome SUV that it will unveil on Sunday, August 20. To try and capture the public’s attention, the new model, dubbed the Five RS, will have a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h).
Powered by a 1,100 hp (820 kW/1,115 PS) all-electric, AWD powertrain, the high-performance crossover will also be capable of reaching 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 1.9 seconds, thanks in part to a two-speed gearbox.
More than just a drag-strip wonder, the automaker says the Five RS will be capable of handling racetracks thanks to a performance-oriented suspension, big 325/35R21 front and rear tires, and brakes developed specifically for its needs.

So that there is no confusion about the Five RS’s intentions, it is set to be unveiled as part of Mullen’s “Strikingly Different” U.S. tour, which will take place at the Circuit of the Americas, in Austin, Texas (in Tesla’s backyard, no less).
Mullen says that because of the performance of the “fully race prepped” vehicle, guests at the event will not be able to drive the Five RS yet. However, they will be able to ride along with a professional racecar driver to understand how intense of an experience it will be able to provide.
Further details are expected on the 20th, when the new model is fully unveiled. However, Mullen claims that the standard Five will have a 95 kWh battery that offers drivers a range of up to 325 miles (523 km), and seating for five.
In addition to the Five, Mullen is also working on electric commercial vehicles for fleet operators. The Three, a 14-foot Class 3 truck, started production on August 10 at its Tunica, Mississippi plant.
