Everyone loves the C2-generation Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray but owning a car from the 1960s brings with it many compromises. That’s where this custom 2011 Corvette could make sense for some as it combines the classic looks of the C2 with the more modern C6-generation Corvette into what is quite a compelling package.
The car has been listed for sale through Motor Car Group in Ohio and has a price tag of $189,000. That’s a serious sum for a C6 Corvette but the price does start to make sense when you consider all of the tireless work that has gone into making the car unique.

First is the bodywork. Handcrafted by Karl Kustom Corvettes, the body takes inspiration from the C2 Sting Ray and while the proportions are quite different, many of the key design elements have been accurately replicated. These include the front fascia with chrome bumperettes, pop-up headlights, eye-catching front quarter panels, and an eye-catching hood.
The doors, pillars, and roof of the C6 have been left untouched but the rear end has been completely overhauled. It includes a split rear window, an entirely new decklid, and a rear fascia with chrome accents, small circular taillights, and four centrally-mounted tailpipes. We think the car looks excellent but will admit the side profile is a little odd.
Karl Kustom Corvettes has also outfitted the new 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with an Edelbrock supercharger. The listing doesn’t note how much power this engine churns out but we know it is mated to the less desirable six-speed automatic transmission, rather than a stick shift. Make no mistake, however, we’re sure this custom C6 is still heaps of fun to drive and there’s no denying that it is a head-turner.
