There is no other SUV on the market quite like the BMW XM and a tuner by the name of Renegade Design has previewed the dramatic bodykit it is developing for it.
It would be an understatement to say that the exterior design of the XM has proven controversial since the SUV’s unveiling. Many think it looks truly horrendous and is completely at odds with all other BMW models. Whether it be the wacky split headlights, the massive front kidney grilles, or the odd stacked quad tailpipes, the SUV has copped its fair share of criticism. However, we think we’ve found a bodykit that actually suits the XM and makes it look quite cool.
The changes made to the front of the SUV aren’t massive but do have a big impact on how it looks. The most obvious alteration is the fitment of a carbon fiber splitter that gives the XM some added aggression. We also like how the tuner has designed a new carbon fiber front grille surround that replaces the thick band of gold that many examples are expected to leave the factory with.

Renegade Design’s continues with the fitment of flared carbon fiber wheel arches that suit the Bimmer absolutely perfectly and further add to its wild design. A new set of HRE wheels have also been installed and sit perfectly flush with the flared arches. Carbon fiber side skirts are also visible as are carbon fiber wing mirror caps.
Some small alterations have also been made to the rear of the XM. For example, there is a more overt carbon fiber rear diffuser. A sharp spoiler also stretches out from the roof. Rounding out the upgrades is a drop in the ride height.
It is unclear how much the kit will set back shoppers but Renegade Design says it will build just 10 examples.
