Toyota is adding a little class to the Tundra lineup with the Nightshade package, which darkens its trim and modifies the Limited grade. In addition, some new colors and capability are coming to the full-size pickup for the new model year.
Exclusively available with the Limited grade Tundra, the Nightshade package offers black fenders, grille, mirror caps, and badges, as well as black 20-inch wheels to help outline the truck’s muscular features.
Toyota will offer the Nightshade package with a limited palette of colors, which include Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Supersonic Red, Lunar Rock, and Blueprint.
Solely an appearance package, buyers who want a little more capability will be happy to hear that Toyota has thought of them, too. In 2024, the Tundra can be equipped with a three-inch suspension lift kit from the factory, thanks to TRD.

For those who want even more capability, the TRD Off-Road Package will now be available on Tundra Platinum 4×4 models. The result is a highly capable truck, with all of the creature comforts of the luxurious Platinum grade.
Those who are more committed to off-road prowess than comfort can go for the TRD PRO, which gains a new, exclusive color for 2024. The new Terra color will help mark the model out as an off-road warrior. The Limited and 1794 grade will also get a unique color all to themselves. In this case, the paint is appropriately named Smoked Mesquite.
Elsewhere in the lineup, these are the colors that Toyota will offer 2024 Tundra buyers: White, Wind Chill Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Super Sonic Red, Army Green, Lunar Rock, Solar Octane and Blueprint.
On the less fun, but probably more important end of the spectrum, Toyota has also made the rear-seat reminder standard on all Tundras for the 2024 model year. The feature can detect whether a rear door was opened within 10 minutes of the vehicle being turned on, or at any time after the engine is turned on. With that information, it can remind drivers that there’s someone back there with a sign on the instrument cluster and a multitone chime once the engine is turned off.
The third-generation Toyota Tundra offers a choice of two engines: the twin-turbo V6 and the hybrid twin-turbo V6, both of which are matched to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The standard engine offers drivers 389 hp (290 kW/394 PS) and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque, while the hybrid unit delivers 437 hp (326 kW/443 PS) and 583 lb-ft (790 Nm) of torque.
That helps the truck provide 12,000 lbs (5,443 kg) of towing and 1,940 lbs (880 kg) of payload capacity. A variety of active safety features and an available 14-inch touchscreen help mark it out as a thoroughly modern truck, too.
Prices for the 2024 Tundra start at $41,815 (including a $1,850 delivery fee), and the Nightshade package adds $450 to the price of the Tundra Limited, which starts at $53,705 (including a $1,850 delivery fee).
