Driving is a task that some folks are amazing at while others struggle to an almost unfathomable degree. In the clip below we get a taste of the low end of the scale and also a lesson in how to avoid poor drivers. Here’s a visual demonstration of things not to do while driving on the highway.
This clip comes to us from u/EffrumScufflegrit over on Reddit who posted a video showing the crash. In it we see a truck driving in lane two on I-285 in Atlanta at what looks to be early in the morning of July 30. Quickly after the video begins we see an Acura RSX enter the frame.

Initially, it’s in lane three but we see it shifting for reasons unknown into lane two behind the truck. Seemingly surprised by the truck’s presence, the Acura driver taps their brakes and navigates back into lane three but overshoots it. They then overcorrect to re-enter lane three and overcorrect again. The chain of events seems inevitable at this point.
One final time they rotate the wheel to the left, this time tapping the brakes as they do, the weight transfer helps those tires lose grip and the Acura barrels toward the concrete divider. The nose of the car is almost pointed 180 degrees back into traffic before the collision and somehow the truck driver manages to avoid the fray.
In fact, during the process of this hideously bad self-inflicted crash, we see a good example of awareness and appropriate action. The truck driver not only notices the Acura but they also do exactly the right thing, braking in a controlled and safe manner, when they see the accident about to happen.
Commenters in the thread suggested all manner of reasons for the crash from distraction to DUI to poor driving skills. We can’t be sure which if any of those factors came into play but we’re glad this wasn’t a bigger wreck with more people involved.
