When Jeep reintroduced the Grand Wagoneer it made headlines for a number of reasons. It’s priced close to $100,000, it’s full of unique luxury equipment, and people tend to love or hate the way it looks. We’re driving one for a week and are taking your questions about the largest Jeep in history.
To kick things off, it’s worth noting for those that might be unfamiliar that the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are different vehicles.
They share the same general body and chassis, but the normal Wagoneer is the entry-level version and it starts at about $61,500. The Grand Wagoneer is the true flagship of the entire Jeep brand and starts at around $91,000. Fully equip one of these beasts and it’ll hover near $120,000.

That means this huge SUV is going up head to head against vehicles like the BMW X7, the Mercedes GLS, and the Cadillac Escalade. Those are major players in this space and each one has its own slice of the pie. Is the Grand Wagoneer grand enough to actually take a bite of the market? We’re about to find out.
It’s available with either a 6.4-liter V8 with 471 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque or a twin-turbocharged inline-six that makes 510 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. Both send power to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic and both get almost hilariously atrocious fuel economy. We’re talking sub-15 mpg in the city no matter how hard you hypermile this whale.
