The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N will arrive in the hands of Australian customers in the first quarter of next year, setting them back AU$111,000 ($72,000), comfortably making it the most expensive Hyundai ever.

A special pre-sale event is being held on September 15 for 12 hours to allow customers to place an order for what is one of the most exciting EVs unveiled in recent years. During this 12-hour period, customers will be able to configure their dream Ioniq 5 N through the Hyundai Australia website and secure their order with a AU$2,000 ($1,297) deposit.

Those who order an Ioniq 5 N through the pre-sale will receive a gift package that includes two Hyundai N cases created in partnership with Pelican, an N-branded torch, and other merchandise, totaling a value of around AU$1,000 ($648).

Interestingly, the Ioniq 5 N will be available in a single highly-equipped version and the only options will be a AU$2,000 ($1,297) Vision Roof and AU$1,000 ($648) matte paint. Shoppers will be able to order their potent EV in either Performance Blue Matte, Performance Blue, Abyss Black, Cyber Gray, Ecotronic Gray, Atlas White Matte, Atlas White, Gravity Gold Matte, and Soultronic Orange.

Local enthusiasts will have their first chance to see the Ioniq 5 N in action at the Sydney Motorsport Park during the World Time Attack Challenge this weekend.

Powering the Ioniq 5 N is an enlarged 84 kWh battery pack that drives revised electric motors at the front and rear axles. The front motor is good for 166 kW (222 hp) while the rear motor is rated at 282 kW (378 hp). This gives the Ioniq 5 N a total of 448 kW (601 hp) in standard mode and 478 kW (641 hp) with Boost Mode enabled. It will sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.4 seconds and top out at 162 mph (260 km/h).
