Nissan announced the 2024 Frontier lineup which has been expanded with the addition of the new Hardbody Edition and the high-spec SL Crew Cab grade. Pricing starts from $29,770, making it $650 more expensive compared to the MY 2023.
Starting with the most interesting addition for the 2024 model year, the Nissan Frontier Hardbody Edition is a tribute to the homonymous pickup from the ’80s, following the similarly nostalgic rally truck from 2021. The highlight is a new set of 17-inch wheels that mimic the design of the original, shod in all-terrain tires. The truck also gets a few retro decals, a sports bar, and black exterior trim reminiscent of the unpainted bumpers from the old times. All these are available as a limited edition package for the Nissan Frontier SV Crew Cab 4×4 trim, adding $3,890 to the original $36,870 MSRP.

The other addition is the Frontier SL Crew Cab 4×4 as the new flagship of the range, starting at $42,640. The new flagship grade comes standard with features like LED lights, leather-wrapped seats, heated front seats, and steering wheel, plus a 10-speaker audio system by Fender.
The Nissan Frontier still uses the same 3.8-liter V6 engine with 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 281 lb-ft (381 lb-ft) of torque. The mill is exclusively mated to a 9-speed automatic, combined with either rear-wheel-drive (4×2) or all-wheel-drive (4×4). Nissan’s midsize truck continues to be offered in King Cab, Crew Cab S / SV, and Pro-X / Pro-4X versions with a 6-foot bed, while the Crew Cab SV is also available with a shorter 5-foot bed.
According to recent reports, the automaker recently decided to extend the lifecycle of the current third-generation Frontier until 2029, with its successor likely coming with a fully electric powertrain.
