Skoda has already treated us with plenty of photos of the upcoming Superb and Kodiaq models under light camouflage, but there is always room for more. A new gallery highlights the Superb sedan (technically, a hatchback) that will complete the lineup next to the more practical Combi estate.
Due to its low-slung three-box silhouette, the Superb looks more like a traditional sedan, but the fact that the boot opens with the rear glass makes it a hatchback. The first-generation of the modern-era Superb was a four-door sedan, the second-gen combined both worlds with a clever twin tailgate mechanism, while the third-gen and upcoming fourth-gen are classic five-door hatchbacks.
The 2024 Skoda Superb Hatchback measures 4,912 mm (193.4 inches) long, 1,834 mm (72.2 inches) wide, and 1,481 mm (58.3 inches) tall with a wheelbase of 2,841 mm (111.9 inches). This makes it 43 mm (1.7 inches) longer and 12 mm (0.5 inches) taller compared to its predecessor, with the sleeker body resulting in an improved drag coefficient of 0.24 cd. Notably, the Hatchback is 10 mm (0.4 inches) longer than the Combi estate, with the small difference being attributed to the rear overhang.

Skoda has already shown us the interior of the Superb free of any camouflage. The dashboard features a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display. Another highlight is a trio of rotary push-button dials with integrated screens on the center console, for controlling various functions.
The lineup of the Superb includes the Essence, Selection, Sportline, and Laurin & Klement versions. On a sustainable note, the interior textiles are made from 100% recycled polyester, with an eco-friendly tanning process for the optional leather which is available in Black or Cognac shades. The boot has a capacity of 645 lt (22.8 cubic feet) in the hatchback, which is slightly smaller than the 690 lt (24.4 cubic feet) of the Combi. Finally, the 28 available Simply Clever features further improve practicality which is one of the core values of the brand.
No PHEV For The Hatchback
As with the recently unveiled and closely related 2024 VW Passat Variant, the Superb rides on an improved version of the MQB architecture. The powertrain lineup includes diesel, petrol, mild-hybrid petrol, and plug-in hybrid options, all mated to a DSG automatic. However, the 1.5 TSI iV plug-in hybrid with 201 hp (204 PS) and more than 100 km (62 miles) of electric range will be exclusively available in the Superb Combi. This means that those who want an electrified Superb hatchback will have to settle with the mild-hybrid option.
The official debut of the 2024 Skoda Superb is scheduled for November, but we are sure that the company will treat us with more revealing teasers until that date.
