A final camouflaged prototype of the long-awaited Lotus Emeya sedan has been scooped in testing just before the car’s unveiling. The new car follows in the footsteps of the Lotus Eletre SUV but will have its own unique style, rather than simply being a copy of the SUV that’s been squished into a sedan.
This particular prototype was snapped near the Nurburgring and is equipped with the car’s production-ready body, although it is hidden by black, gray, and white camouflage. One of the most intriguing aspects of the Emeya’s front fascia is the two LED daytime running lights on either side. The main headlamps are then positioned horizontally in a small indent on the bumper. You will also notice a relatively sizeable grille. Sizeable for an EV, that is.
Much like the Eletre, it’s obvious that the Emeya’s performance will be one of its key attributes and selling points. This is most evident with the large drilled brake rotors we can see as well as a set of massive six-piston calipers up front. Other key features visible on the sides are pop-out door handles, cameras in the place of traditional wing mirrors, and additional rearward-facing sensors on the front doors.

The roofline and rear window of the new Lotus sedan are notably sleek and remind us of the Audi A7 Sportback. Evidently, this prototype is not fitted with production-ready taillights but does have a rear bumper and diffuser that should go unchanged when the Emeya starts reaching the hands of customers.
Then we have the interior. This prototype has the same four-spoke steering wheel as the Lotus Eletre and we can see that the center console and tunnel also have a very similar design to the SUV. This includes the presence of two cup holders and a small central toggle to select gears. A prominent, Tesla-style infotainment display is also visible as is a narrow display ahead of the driver, showing important vehicle information. Screens for the door cameras are also visible and they appear slightly larger than those of the Eletre.
The Emeya is expected to borrow many of its powertrain components from the Eletre. This could include the same 112 kWh battery and a pair of dual-motor offerings that may produce 603 hp and 905 hp respectively.
