A host of Audi A6, A7, and both S and RS models need to be returned to dealerships in the United States for an easy fix related to the brake fluid reservoir cap.
Volkswagen Group of America has revealed that a total of 7,499 vehicles sold by Audi in the U.S. were incorrectly fitted with a European-specification brake fluid reservoir cap, rather than a U.S.-spec one.

We have absolutely no idea how the European and U.S. caps differ from each other but the VW Group’s filing with the NHTSA says that if the owner of a vehicle does not understand the markings on the cap, then it is possible that they could use incorrect fluid. If the incorrect fluid is put into the brake system, then it could increase the risk of a crash and means subject vehicles do not comply with U.S. safety standards.
