With the UAW on strike, tensions are running high and nearly everyone has an opinion about the union. The latter reportedly cost one dealership employee his job as they attacked the UAW on Facebook.

According to Automotive News, an employee at Michigan’s Suburban Ford of Ferndale made several disparaging remarks on a “Facebook page geared for UAW members to talk about contract negotiations.” These reportedly included “F*ck the UAW” and “… they want to work 32 hours, but get paid for 40 hours?”

However, their ultimate downfall appears to have been a comment saying “I work for a Ford dealership, so depending on how bad this gets, it could affect me.” Screenshots of the comments started circulating and the publication reports the employee was “let go” for violating their social media policy.

Ford Dealership Employee Fired For Saying “F*ck The UAW” On Facebook

In multiple Facebook posts, the dealership said “We understand there was a comment from one of our employees on social media recently that hurt many people.” They went on to say, “Suburban Ford of Ferndale … supports all UAW workers and we support their right to strike. We have built many strong relationships with UAW employees that have made our business what it is today.”

The dealership’s Facebook page was flooded with comments calling for the employee to be fired. Some people said they would not buy from the dealership until the employee was let go, while another person noted his comments alienated every UAW member in Michigan. Others called for a boycott of the dealership, while some left negative reviews.
