Mercedes has teased the CLA concept, ahead of its debut at the Munich Motor Show on September 3.
Billed as an “electric hypermiler” and the “next step into the electric future,” the concept previews the upcoming production model and has a rounded front fascia with an illuminated grille.
We can also get a glimpse of sweptback headlights, which recall the Mercedes star logo. There isn’t much else to see, but it appears the concept might have an illuminated band that encompasses the vehicle.

We’ll learn full details shortly, but the CLA will be the first vehicle based on the all-new Mercedes Modular Architecture. The automaker added the concept will have an “ultra-efficient electric powertrain that is directly derived from the groundbreaking Vision EQXX program” and this will make it a ‘one-liter car’ for the electric era.
Speaking of which, Mercedes said the concept will have an energy consumption of around 5.2 mi/kWh (12 kWh/100km). The automaker also said we can expect a range in excess of 466 miles (750 km).
Putting the powertrain aside, the concept will demonstrate their “vision to elevate the segment through aesthetic and extraordinary design, long-range efficiency, pioneering innovation, sustainable materials, and an entirely new operating system” known as MB.OS.
Besides the CLA concept, the automaker will introduce the AMG GT E Performance concept. They’ll be joined by the new E-Class All-Terrain and E-Class plug-in hybrid. The EQA, EQB, and EQV will also be making their auto show debut, while the Vision One-Eleven and Vision EQXX will also be in attendance.
