The 2024 Hyundai i30 Sedan has arrived in Australia offering customers more powertrain options than ever before, all bundled into a stylish and competitively-priced offering.

Hyundai’s most significant change to the facelifted i30 Sedan is the availability of a new hybrid powertrain. The system consists of a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that is supplemented with a 1.32 kWh battery pack and an electric motor with 32 kW (43 hp) and 170 Nm (125 lb-ft) of torque. Not only does this powertrain offer solid power but it is also extremely efficient, sipping just 3.9 l/100 km (60.3 U.S. mpg) over the combined cycle.

Adding to the desirability of the hybrid is the fact that it includes a regenerative braking system and that at low speeds can operate exclusively in electric mode. When accelerating, the combustion engine and electric motor work in tandem while at higher speeds, only the engine is running. All 2024 Hyundai i30 Sedan hybrid models come standard with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels with prices starting at AU$33,000 ($20,924). Prices for the better-equipped Elite and Premium trims will be announced at a later date.

Sitting below the hybrid powertrain in the line-up is Hyundai’s familiar SmartStream 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The flagship version of Australia’s 2024 i30 Sedan is the N Line. This model sports a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and will be offered in AU$36,000 ($22,826) N Line and AU$41,000 ($25,997) N Line Premium forms.

The facelifted 2024 i30 Sedan N, or Elantra N in other markets, will launch locally in the first quarter of 2024 with details to be announced soon.
