The Lexus lineup has been rejuvenated over the past few years as we’ve seen new and redesigned models including the NX, RX, LX, GX, TX, and RZ. That’s a lot of fresh product, but the range-topping LS continues to chug along with a handful of updates for 2024.
Starting outside, customers will find a newly available Silver Illusion paint job. That isn’t the only change as the model now offers “five exclusive wheel designs and colors,” which vary by trim.
The updates continue inside as there’s a newly standard wireless smartphone charger. On top of that, the LS 500 gains a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, and digital key technology.

The LS 500 also adopts the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite of driver assistance systems that includes All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. They’re joined by Road Sign Assist, Proactive Driving Assist, and a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. The model also has an Emergency Driving Stop System, which will bring the vehicle to a gradual halt if the driver becomes unresponsive on the highway.
Last but not least, the Luxury and Executive Packages now include a heated leather steering wheel with wood accents.
Pricing starts at $80,685 and that’s an increase of $1,950. However, thanks to the extra equipment, it’s easy to justify the added cost.
Lexus hasn’t released full equipment details, but the entry-level LS 500 should come equipped with LED lighting units, rain-sensing wipers, and a hands-free power trunk. Customers can also expect to find a moonroof and 19-inch wheels.
Moving inside, there should be a heated leather steering wheel, a dual-zone climate control system, and a 12.3-inch Lexus Interface infotainment system with cloud-based navigation and an intelligent assistant. Other highlights should include heated and ventilated front seats, a power sunshade, and a 12-speaker audio system.
Motivation is provided by a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 that produces 416 hp (310 kW / 422 PS) and 442 lb-ft (599 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a ten-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels. All-wheel drive is also available and Lexus says the sedan can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in around 4.6 seconds.
Customers looking for something more eco-friendly can opt for the 2024 LS 500h, which begins at $115,560. That’s an increase of $725 and the model keeps the older Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 suite of driver assistance technology. That being said, the car comes equipped with the Teammate semi-autonomous driving system that allows for hands-free operation.
The LS 500h has a hybridized 3.5-liter V6 that gives the model a combined output of 354 hp (264 kW / 359 PS). This allows for a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time of 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 126 mph (203 km/h), which is 10 mph (16 km/h) less than its conventionally powered counterpart. While the hybrid is slower, it has an EPA estimated fuel economy rating of 23 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined.
