Six and a half months after the Mercedes-Benz GLA family was updated for the 2024 model year, the flagship GLA 45 S 4Matic+ has also been tweaked for 2024. While the changes are relatively minimal, they make the potent crossover all the more appealing and add some welcome new features.
Alterations start up front where, like the standard model, the 2024 GLA 45 S 4Matic+ now has a new fascia with a different grille and restyled air intakes. The LED headlights have also been changed with new light signatures and should customers wish, a set of Multibeam LED headlights are available as an option. An AMG crest has also been positioned on the hood.
One of the more minor yet welcome changes is the fact that the wheel arch extensions are now longer clad in black and are instead finished in the same color as the body. Rounding out the exterior changes are standard 19-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and different LED taillights. Customers can also choose between two available 20-inch wheels each with a twin five-spoke design. A set of 21-inch shoes are also available.
No changes have been made to the crossover’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, not that it needed any upgrades. As such, the four-cylinder mill is still good for 416 hp at 6,750 rpm and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque between 5,000 – 5,250 rpm in European spec. It remains unclear if the new model will be sold in the U.S. as America currently misses out on the flagship GLA 45 S and has to make do with the ‘standard’ GLA 45.

The sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) is dealt with in 4.3 seconds and the crossover won’t stop accelerating until it reaches 168 mph (270 km/h). Mated to the engine is an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that includes two multi-plate clutches each connected to a drive shaft on the rear axle, allowing for the variable distribution of power between the front and rear axles as well as the left and right rear wheels.
Found in the cabin of the 2024 model is the automaker’s latest AMG Performance steering wheel and a revised MBUX infotainment system with an AMG-specific screen design that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buyers can also order the cabin in a combination of Artico artificial leather in Sage Grey / Black and Microcut microfiber now available in Bahia Brown. Mercedes-AMG also now offers the option of Red Pepper / Black on the leather seat covers.
Mercedes-AMG has not yet announced pricing details for the 2024 GLA 45 S 4Matic+
