It’s Halloween, so it’s fitting the gates of hell have opened and allowed the Hellephant C170 crate engine through.

Set to go on sale early next year, the Hellephant C170 is the same engine that powers the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 and it will be offered by Direct Connection.

Kicking things off is the ‘entry-level’ Hellephant C170 6.2L Supercharged Crate HEMI Long Block. It’s a mouthful of an engine that costs $18,995. While the mill isn’t cheap, it’s capable of producing 1,025 hp (764 kW / 1,039 PS) and 945 lb-ft (1,280 Nm) of torque when running an E85 ethanol blend.
