Hennessey Performance has just finished work on its latest Ram 1500 TRX super truck, this time taking the limited-run Lunar Edition and giving it a host of special components.
It has been a couple of years since the Texas tuner first unveiled its Mammoth 1000 package for the Ram 1500 TRX. The kit lifts the performance of the truck to even greater heights and turns it into an absolute animal. But what makes this Mammoth 1000 unique?
For starters, it is the first example of the TRX Lunar Edition that Hennessey has worked on. Like all other Lunar Edition models, it has a Ceramic Grey paint finish complete with a host of black accents across the exterior. The tuner has then fitted an available off-road package that includes unique front and rear bumpers, a suspension lift, 10-spoke aftermarket wheels with 37-inch off-road tires, and LED off-road lights. On the move, it looks like a beast and like all Mammoth 1000s, is a performance weapon.

Each Ram 1500 TRX that receives Hennessey’s Mammoth 1000 package gets an enlarged 2.65-liter high-flow supercharger, upgraded fuel injectors, and a new high-flow induction system. These elements combine to extract 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft (1,313 Nm) of torque from the 6.2-liter V8. Hennessey says the truck can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds and run down the quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds at over 120 mph (193 km/h). A new exhaust system also ensures that it sounds even meaner than a standard TRX.
Ram introduced the TRX Lunar Edition earlier this year. In addition to it receiving special Ceramic Grey paint, it also comes with Surf Blue accent stitching through the cabin as well as a carbon fiber interior package. Other highlights of it include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a spray-in bedliner, cargo tie-downs, and an LED brake light.
