The C8 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has proven itself to be a legitimate rival to more expensive supercars from Europe and the experts over at Lingenfelter have made it even more desirable thanks to the development of two new exhaust systems for it.

The two systems are both known as the Corsa Performance exhaust and one of them has been designed to track use while the other is for road use. The road-going exhaust will set back shoppers $3,499 while the track version has been priced at $2,499. Both are made from 304 stainless steel and help to fully unleash the Z06’s intoxicating 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8.

Both Corsa exhaust options from Lingenfelter have valve actuators that muffle the sound during cold starts before unleashing a pure V8 symphony under heavy acceleration. They also integrate with the stock actuators and the sound varies depending on the driving mode. The only difference between the two exhausts is that the road-going one has mufflers while the track exhaust does not. Lingenfelter claims they add an extra 12 hp and 13 lb-ft (17 Nm) and while those gains are small, the intoxicating new exhaust note is what shoppers will really be looking for.

We happen to think that the C8 Z06 sounds superb from the factory but Lingenfelter’s exhaust helps add some extra panache to the soundtrack without going overboard or having to resort to spitting flames to make a statement.

Each exhaust sold by Lingenfelter comes with a lifetime warranty while the valves have a 5-year warranty. The first 10 exhaust systems ordered this month will be available for free installation at Lingenfelter Build Centers.

As a reminder, the Corvette Z06’s 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 delivers 670 hp and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque. This means it has the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 engine ever fitted to a production vehicle, snatching the crown away from the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series.
