Toyota is set to roll into this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show with over a dozen vehicles in tow. Notably, four of these rides have received special attention and customization tailored exclusively for the event.
The automaker has yet to provide us with details on the upcoming show cars, but it is focusing on its trucks and utility vehicles. More information on each will be provided during a walkaround hosted by TV personality, Rutledge Wood, on October 31 at 10:00 a.m. PT (1:00 p.m. EDT).
Among the builds developed specifically for SEMA 2023, Toyota will show off something called an FJ Bruiser, a Retro Cruiser, a “Blue Beetle” Tacoma (which is related to the release of DC’s new superhero movie), and the Tacoma X-Runner Concept that you can see below.

Although Toyota provided only a single teaser image, it is rich with subtext. To start, it is performing a four-wheel drift, suggesting that it will be focused on high-performance street driving. The Tacoma has also been lowered, further implying that it is designed for the road, not the trail.
A black hood adorned with a scoop suggests that it will be based on the TRD Pro trim, which means that it will likely be powered by Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid powertrain that makes 326 hp (243 kW / 331 PS) and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque.
In addition, Toyota says it will display a variety of models with Associated Accessory Products including the Tundra SR5, 4Runner, Tacoma, Grand Highlander, and Sequoia, as well as a GR Cup Series GR86 racecar, a 45th Anniversary Special Edition GR Supra, a Circuit Edition GR Corolla, a Trueno Special Edition GR86, and an arcade-inspired Tacoma TRD Pro Time Attack IsoDynamic Performance Seat Simulator.
Finally, the automaker will show off the TRD Performance Package for the Tundra, its expanded Associated Accessory Product offerings, a variety of other TRD Pro and Trailhunter trucks, and the wireless trailer camera for the Tundra and Sequoia.
