Running from the police is never a good idea but in this video, we see that poor choice compounded by two others. The driver decided to run in an everyday Toyota Camry and did so in wet conditions. It didn’t end well for him.

This video actually documents a chase that occurred around noon on December 21st back in 2021. Only now do we have video from the officer’s dashcam though and it’s harrowing. Police say they initially intended to pull over the car as they suspected it was stolen but the driver ran.

As it begins we see the Camry in question fishtailing across multiple lanes at highway speeds. Impressively, the driver at the helm manages to keep the car pointed straight. As the video continues we see him along with officers navigating traffic throughout the chase. The wet roads appear to cause all cars involved to lose a bit of traction and grip at times.

When the driver exited the I-95 highway and jumped onto GA 144 police moved in for a PIT maneuver. He attempts to make a hard U-turn but ends up surrounded. Multiple police cars hit the Toyota and the suspect flees into the woods. Officers give chase and apprehend him minutes later.

Amazingly it appears that nobody ended up hurt despite reported speeds of 120-130 mph during the pursuit. Of course, the driver’s criminal record took quite the hit. Georgia threw the book at him it seems. Charges included felony fleeing, shoplifting, reckless driving, speeding, driving under the influence, hit and run, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

Authorities even charged him with every traffic infraction they could including no seatbelt, failure to maintain lane, and improper lane change. If he had been driving something with a bit more horsepower and performance he might have gotten away. Perhaps it’s a good thing that Camrys are so ubiquitous.
