The Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake took over the lobby of The Aria hotel in Las Vegas last night to reveal its special livery for the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix. With the team going all-in on black, the new look suggests it may have been spending too much time at the roulette table this week.

The new look was cooked up by Alfa Romeo Centro Stile, in Turin, Italy, and sees the car covered in a repeating playing card pattern. However, the black clubs are transformed into golden four-leaf clovers, or Quadrifogli, representing the brand’s famous good luck charm.

The repeating black, red, and gold colors of the striking livery are the same as the racecar’s more familiar color scheme, albeit with much more black. While that looks cool, it may make it difficult for fans watching the broadcast to distinguish between Alfa Romeo and Mercedes F1 cars — especially since the Vegas Grand Prix will be run at night.

Alfa Romeo F1 Team Goes All-In On Vegas With New One-Off Livery

Alfa Romeo is far from the only brand to sport a unique livery for the much-anticipated race. Ferrari has revealed that its car will have a retro livery, inspired by colors it wore in the ’70s. Red Bull’s dominant racecar will also have a new paint scheme for the race, as will Alpine’s, McLaren’s, and Williams’.

In addition to the cars, Alfa Romeo’s drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, will wear race suits featuring the same color scheme and patterns. Bottas also took the opportunity to receive a touch-up to his mullet from celebrity hairstylist Matthew Collins — who gave willing fans in attendance at the event the same opportunity to receive the business-in-the-front-party-in-the-back hairstyle as part of the celebration.

The team and its drivers will see if the new livery gives them any luck at the Las Vegas Grand Prix this weekend.
