If you spent your living moments being fantastically rich and enjoying high-end luxury cars, you don’t want your last car ride to be in the back of a modded Chevy Traverse. Nope, you want to check-out in style in Biemme Special Cars’ Ghoster hearse.
We can’t work out whether basing a hearse on a car called Ghost is a brilliant bit of does-what-it-says-on-the-tin thinking or just incredibly insensitive. And why is the wagon-ified version called Ghoster? Maybe it’s some kind of phonetical miscommunication resulting from how Italians would say the word Ghost, you like that apocryphal tale (now debunked) about how the Mitsubishi Starion was actually meant to be the Stallion?
Anyway, the car looks very impressive, the elegant bronze-colored hood blending into the roof section to help make sense of the funeral director’s equivalent of an F-150’s truck cap, by separating it from the car, rather than trying (and failing) to make it blend in, like most hearses do. Biemme adds extra length to the wheelbase by adding a tubular frame structure and then clothing it in steel panels.

The VIP area looks like something out of a super yacht, with finely crafted wood and leather covering most surfaces, customizable LED lighting, and an electric tray to help move the guest of honor in and out. Biemme proudly mentions that Rolls Royce adds 100 kg (220 lbs) of sound insulation to every regular Ghost, but then talks up the spec of an 18-speaker hifi system whose 1,300-watt output sounds like it might be enough to wake the dead.
Given the Ghoster’s intended purpose those 1,300 watts are as unlikely to be utilized to the max as the V12 engine’s 562 horses (570 PS), though we imagine with all the extra weight of the body conversion that those ponies will welcome all the same. Biemme’s website doesn’t list a price for the Ghoster, but considering a stock Ghost sedan from Rolls Royce starts at $355,000, it’s not going to be cheap. As the saying goes, though, they can’t take it with you…
