The Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) brand from BYD is wasting no time in establishing itself in China and has previewed its third model, dubbed the Bao 3. FCB is being positioned between BYD’s Denza and YangWang brands and will first launch with the Bao 5 and follow it up with a flagship SUV known as the Bao 8.
A series of screenshots were recently shared online by Chinese media outlets of the Bao 3. They depict a small SUV with a rugged and unique exterior design that is sure to make it stand out on the road. Dominating the front end of this intriguing new model are twin LED light bars while positioned below them are the main headlamps and a simple black grille housing the FCB badge.
Like the larger Bao 5 and Bao 8, the Bao 3 has been conceived with an off-road focus and as such, it sports a striking front bumper with a rugged design and a short front overhang. Screenshots published by Car News China showing the side profile of the Bao 3 are particularly compelling as they reveal that it has a good amount of ground clearance while rocking squared-off wheel arches. Other design elements visible include flush door handles and a set of roof rails.

Spin around to the rear and there are LED taillights, a black bumper, a third brake light on the roof, and a spare wheel/tire carrier. The rear overhang also appears very minimal which should also add to the SUV’s off-road credentials.
Dimensions remain a mystery but it is understood the Bao 3 will be slightly larger than the BYD Atto 3. It is expected to be underpinned by an LFP battery from BYD subsidiary FinDreams that drives a pair of electric motors. Early reports suggest that prices will sit between 200,000 yuan and 300,000 yuan ($27,300 – $41,000).
