Update: It appears that the realistic-looking spy shots were actually cleverly crafted digital renderings. Our article has been updated to reflect this new information.
A few days back, fuzzy shots of a mysterious Lamborghini supercar surfaced on social media, fueling fan speculation about a possible successor to the Huracan, despite its resemblance to the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 racecar instead of the camouflaged prototypes of the next gen. Plot twist: turns out, these were just fancy digital creations by a crafty independent artist. Ah, the wonders of the virtual age, always keeping us on our toes!
The brain behind this digital creation is “Jpog”, a French automotive photographer, CG artist, and filmmaker, who shared more detailed renderings on his Instagram profile. This imaginative creation is named the Lamborghini Essenza STO EVO, envisioned as a road-legal iteration of the Super Trofeo EVO2 racecar, which made its debut in 2021.

The extravagant bumper, vented hood, slim LED headlights, and wide front fenders with integrated vents are carried over from the Super Trofeo EVO2. The same applies to the overall silhouette and the greenhouse which makes the connection to all road-going and track-only Huracans.
Still, the purple Lamborghini has a few differences from the Super Trofeo besides the eggplant-inspired color. The aerodynamic package has been tweaked with a unique rear wing giving a more exotic look to the imaginary supercar. Furthermore, the LED graphics on both ends are new – including the bumper-mounted hexagonal-shaped DRLs that tricked many people into believing it was a new model.
Another interesting detail is the center-lock wheels with yellow-painted brake calipers which are sourced from the Porsche 992 GT3 RS. Of course, this configuration would never come out of the Sant’Agata factory, but anything is permitted in the digital world.
Lamborghini Squadra Corse
The thought of a new version of the Huracan that would be more extreme than the STO and the Tecnica might sound exciting for Lamborghini fans but chances are it is never going to happen. The remaining production of the Huracan and all of its versions has been spoken for, and the next-generation model is just around the corner, leaving little room for such a swan song special.
Still, a similar bodykit mirroring the lines of the racecar could be manufactured by an aftermarket company, if there is enough interest from Huracan owners around the globe. We also can’t rule out the possibility of a special request by a wealthy Lamborghini owner with the right connections, who could have the Squadra Corse team retrofit the aggressive dress of the Super Trofeo EVO2 on a Huracan STO.
The Real Huracan Successor Is Coming Next Year
The successor of the Lamborghini Huracan is expected to debut in late 2024 with a plug-in hybrid V8 taking the place of the naturally aspirated V10. During the past year, our spy photographers caught several prototypes of the electrified supercar in action giving us an idea of what to expect.
Despite the camouflage wrap and the familiar proportions, the position of the lighting units and dual side intakes is different from any existing version of the Huracan, helping fans identify the new baby Lambo.
