Popular YouTuber and Twitch streamer Jordan Maron, better known online as CaptainSparklez, has taken delivery of arguably the brightest and most over-the-top BAC Mono R built to date.
In creating his dream Mono R, Maron worked closely with the BAC design team and opted to have the body bathed in three-coat red carbon fiber, a finish that suits a vehicle like this absolutely perfectly. Gold-painted accents are then found across large parts of the Mono R’s bodywork and work well to add some extra panache and sparkle to the track-honed single-seater. Look closely and you’ll notice that some of the gold elements have a gloss finish while others have a satin hue.
CaptainSparklez also had his Mono R fitted with a bespoke set of wheels finished in Sunburst Gold and sitting over a set of gloss black brake calipers. The cabin of the car also features some gold elements, including the stitching on the seats and elements of the carbon fiber-clad steering wheel.
Like all other BAC Monos, the interior of the car is designed to be personalized to ensure the perfect fit. As such, Maron visited BAC’s headquarters in the UK to have a custom seat made as well as a steering wheel with all the functions he wanted.
“It was a pleasure to make Jordan’s vision a reality,” BAC co-founder and design director Ian Briggs described. “BAC Mono ownership is an inimitable experience. Each vehicle is meticulously handcrafted to our customer’s exact specifications, delivering a lightweight and dynamically remarkable machine that is entirely personal, and unlike anything else you can buy.”

Driving the Mono R is a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder that produces 343 hp and 243 lb-ft (330 Nm) of torque. This engine revs all the way to 8,800 rpm and drives the rear wheels. While the car is more about ultimate track performance and handling than it is about straight-line acceleration, it is able to rock to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.5 seconds.
“I had long grappled with the idea of getting a Mono, but it is truly the final step a person can take once they grow a bit tired of the usual exotics,” Maron said when taking delivery of the car. “In terms of an A-to-A, solo driving experience, it has spoiled all other cars for me.”
