The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is a lot of things to a lot of people. A mind-blowing performance car to some, an incredibly rare special edition to others, and a piece of history to all, this is your opportunity to buy one that’s never been driven, or even owned before.

The car was designed to celebrate the Nissan GT-R’s 50th anniversary, as well as that of Italdesign. As a result, a run of 50 of these higher-performance special editions was planned. However, history intervened in the form of a global pandemic, and just 18 were ever made.

This one, number 11, never made it into a customer’s hands, and was instead kept in climate-controlled storage at the factory before being transferred to a state-of-the-art storage facility. That, despite it being specified in the optional Liquid Silver Metallic paint with NISMO Red accents, and having the hydraulic rear wing attached.

As a result of its add-ons, the list price of this particular model was €1,050,000 ($1,123,642 USD at current exchange rates), roughly €60,000 ($64,208 USD) more than the base price. Makes you wonder about who ordered and why their money weren’t taken by the factory.

Whatever happened, the car now has just 119 miles (192 km) on the odometer, making it showroom fresh. That means that this a rare opportunity to buy a brand-new version of one of the rarest vehicle of the 2020s.

As with other GT-R50s, the car is powered by a tuned version of Nissan’s handbuilt 3.8-liter V6 engine. Thanks to new fuel injectors, updated pistons, and a redesigned exhaust system, in addition to larger GT3-spec turbos and intercoolers, it makes 710 hp (530 kW/720 PS) and 575 lb-ft (780 Nm) of torque.

Power is delivered to all four wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox that works in conjunction with an improved differential and driveshaft. It also benefits from Brembo brakes, Bilstein DampTronic adjustable dampers, and custom 19-inch alloy wheels.

The 2021 Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is being offered for sale by RM Sotheby’s at its Munich auction, which is being held on November 25. Estimates suggest that the car will sell for between $1 and $1.25 million.
