Kia America has beaten their annual sales record as the company has sold 722,176 vehicles through November. This is only the second time Kia has sold more than 700,000 units annually in the United States and there’s still one month to go before the year is over.

The previous record was set in 2016 when Kia sold 700,862 vehicles, but the brand has already soared past that figure thanks to strong demand for the Forte, Sportage, and Telluride. All three models have already generated more than 100,000 sales this year and the Sorento isn’t far behind.

Perhaps the most surprising star is the Carnival minivan, which has seen sales more than double compared to this time last year. Through November, Kia has moved 40,084 units and that’s a huge increase from last year’s 18,480 units. That trend could continue as the facelifted Carnival looks like a winner thanks to a bold design and a classier cabin.

Virtually every model is beating last year’s results, but there are a few exceptions including the EV6 which is trailing 2022 numbers by 1,761 units. The K5 and Stinger have also fallen behind, but this isn’t surprising as the latter car is toast while a facelifted K5 was introduced in South Korea this October.

Kia America’s vice president of sales operations said “Demand for Kia vehicles continues at an all-time high and to beat our previous annual sales record in less than 11 months demonstrates the power of the Kia brand.” Eric Watson added “new customers are shopping Kia like never before” and noted their “winning streak” should continue into the new year thanks to models such as the EV9 and facelifted Sorento.
