The second generation of the Compass has been in production since 2016, and Jeep continues to keep it up to date with frequent updates. In 2024, the EU-spec Compass is set to receive a new set of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which will expand its semi-autonomous driving capabilities. The European version of the SUV is exclusively offered with electrified powertrains, including the e-Hybrid and the more powerful 4Xe PHEV.
The 2024 Jeep Compass doesn’t feature any styling changes, retaining the looks of the facelifted model that debuted in 2021. The same applies to the interior, which features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen. What is new for 2024 is the improved ADAS package, with the Level 2 autonomous driving capability now being available on all types of roads (instead of the previous system which was limited to highways). Jeep also added more connected services, and new sets of Class A+ tires (18-inch and 19-inch) for improved efficiency.
According to the automaker, the Compass now offers more than 80 safety and security features. Just to name a few, the collection includes Drowsy Driver Detection, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Pedestrian/Cyclist Automatic Emergency Braking, Active Lane Management, and Rear Cross Path detection.

Jeep Europe
The lineup has been simplified for 2024 and now includes four trims – Altitude, Summit, Overland, and Trailhawk. The latter retains its off-road-focused appearance while adding more generous standard equipment. Finally, there is a trio of optional packages – the safety, premium, and winter packs (the premium pack adds the updated Level 2 Autonomous Drive system).
The 2024 Jeep Compass is available with two electrified powertrains since all ICE-only options have been discontinued from European markets. The entry-level Compass e-Hybrid has a turbocharged 1.5-liter petrol engine that produces 130 hp (97 kW / 132 PS), an electric motor contributing another 20 hp (15 kW / 20 PS), a 48V battery pack, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox sending power to the front axle.
The flagship Compass 4Xe features a more potent plug-in hybrid setup which is available in two power outputs – with 187 hp (140 kW / 190 PS) or 237 hp (177 kW / 240 PS). Both feature the electrified 4×4 system and the Selec-Terrain modes (Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud, and Sport) for driving on different kinds of terrains. The 4Xe Trailhawk can go even further off the beaten track thanks to the addition of the Rock mode, and the Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system.
The current generation of the Jeep Compass is produced in four different factories – Ranjangaon (India), Pernambuco (Brazil), Toluca (Mexico), and Melfi (Italy) – and is available in over 100 countries around the world. It has been confirmed that the all-new third-generation Jeep Compass will enter production in 2025 at the Melfi plant in Italy. The new model will ride on the STLA Medium architecture, offering fully electric and hybrid powertrain options.
