We don’t envy being a police officer as they all have very difficult jobs. However, the trooper in this video probably should have known when to call it quits during a high-speed chase with a Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody.
This particular incident happened on November 24, 2023, at around 10:55 p.m. in Arkansas. According to the report shared online, trooper Blayn Lucas from the Arkansas State Police pulled over a dark green Dodge Challenger after being unable to read its license plate. Dashcam footage shows the officer walking towards the muscle car when the driver decides to pin the throttle and flee.
Immediately, the driver of the Dodge performs a huge burnout in the V8-powered muscle car and almost appears to lose control. They then accelerate to approximately 140 mph (225 km/h) along Interstate 30 westbound before taking an exit. The police officer in pursuit of the Dodge is seen cutting through traffic in his attempt to keep up with the Challenger and soon finds himself on some suburban roads.
The individual fleeing from the police then got back onto Interstate 30 and took Exit 40. Video from the police cruiser shows that the officer also took this exit but approached a left-hand bend far too quickly. The car loses traction and slams into the concrete crash barrier at about 96 mph (155 km/h), ending the chase then and there.

“As I began to take the exit, I did not decrease enough speed coming into the curve,” Lucas said in an incident report after the crash. “This caused the front right corner of my vehicle to make contact with the concrete wall. My patrol unit traveled down the concrete wall and came to a stop. I advised my dispatch that I had wrecked out and that the suspect vehicle had gotten away. My supervisor arrived on scene with other Trooper and my vehicle was towed back to ASP headquarters. I was transported to UAMS to be medically evaluated for the collision.”
Images taken of the police cruiser after the crash show that the passenger side has been badly damaged and that the airbags were deployed. Fortunately, Lucas avoided any serious injuries.
