A few months after former President Donald Trump harshly criticized Joe Biden’s electric vehicle push, the outspoken candidate for the 2024 presidential election has once again hit out at EVs during a Christmas address shared on the Truth Social network.

In the post, Trump took aim at Biden and special counsel Jack Smith, suggesting that the “good and bad” leaders of the world are not as “evil and ‘sick’ as the THUGS” within the United States. He then suggested that “all electric car lunacy” is one of the ways that leaders are looking to destroy the country.

“Merry Christmas to all, including Crooked Joe Biden’s ONLY HOPE, Deranged Jack Smith, the out of control Lunatic who just hired outside attorneys, fresh from the SWAMP (unprecedented!), to help him with his poorly executed WITCH HUNT against “TRUMP” and “MAGA.” Trump wrote. “Included also are World Leaders, both good and bad, but none of which are as evil and “sick” as the THUGS we have inside our Country who, with their Open Borders, INFLATION, Afghanistan Surrender, Green New Scam, High Taxes, No Energy Independence, Woke Military, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Iran, All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, are looking to destroy our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

Donald Trump Hits Out At “All Electric Car Lunacy” In Christmas Message

While this kind of Christmas message is a little bit odd, Trump frequently makes posts like these on Truth Social. In September, he aimed at President Biden’s EV plans and aim of rapidly expanding the nation’s public charging network. He suggested that Michigan will not have an auto industry if Biden’s EV ambitions become a reality, suggesting that “China will take it all, 100%.”

In a separate post on Truth Social in September, Trump added that electric vehicles are a “hoax” and believes the pivot to EVs will lead to widespread job cuts across the United States.

Of course, Trump’s arguments fail to take into account the fact that approximately $124 billion worth of EV investments in factories and battery facilities in the U.S. had been announced between 2021 and September 2023.
