Evgeny Shamko, a 40-year-old man in Russia, was miraculous spared injury after driving his Volkswagen Touareg off the fourth story of a parking garage. Reports claim that he suffered only shock after his terrifying fall.
It is not clear what caused the accident in the first, place, but video of the event shows the vehicle speeding towards the end of the parking structure. Shamko seemingly makes little effort to slow the SUV down, and it slams through the barrier.
Although the impact appears to slow it down, it is not by enough to prevent it from sliding out of the building. The Touareg tumbles out of the parking structure, nose first, landing on its grille. Fortunately, in the air, the SUV rolled 180 degrees, which meant that after its initial impact, it tumbled back onto its wheels.

In what amounts to a pretty powerful endorsement of Volkswagen’s safety engineering, Shamko was reportedly physically okay after the crash. He was, however, in shock, which makes sense, given the circumstances.
A witness said that after checking Shamko out, a paramedic team opted not to transport him to hospital, reports The Mirror. The driver was checked for alcohol, after a bottle was found in the car. However, it is not clear what his condition was in the moments leading to the crash.
Photos of the aftermath of the incident show that the Touareg absorbed a lot of the impact. In addition to the popped airbags, the front of the SUV suffered significant damage, and section of the leading edge of the roof also appear to have buckled in the impact.
What makes Russian men named Evgeny so impervious to falls is unclear, but earlier this year another, named Evgeny Chebotarev, survived a 50-foot fall from the top of a building in a Lada Niva. Although he was intentionally attempting a stunt at the time, his crash did send him to the hospital with leg injuries.
