The owner of a 2005 Ford GT and a 2018 GT is parting ways with both models at RM Sotheby’s Arizona auction in January and while the duo will be sold separately, an astute buyer may snap up both of them at the same time.
This particular 2005 GT rolled off the production line on 19 October of the same year and is one of just 16 examples produced in Quick Silver without the racing stripes. It was equipped with the available McIntosh stereo, lightweight forged aluminum wheels, and gray-painted brake calipers from the factory. Making it all the more desirable is the fact that it has only been driven 2,470 miles (3,975 km) since new and has had just one owner.
While the car is now almost 20 years old, we still think it looks superb. The silver paint seems to be in good condition and it retains the original 19-inch wheels. While the interior is starting to feel a little dated, the abundance of physical switches and dials is a nice change from most current sports cars and supercars. The auction house expects it to sell for between $400,000 and $500,000.

Then there’s the 2018 model. It was ordered to match the 2005 car, although is painted in a slightly different color that Ford dubs Ingot Silver. Additionally, it is rocking silver brake calipers and silver wheels and has also been outfitted with the available titanium Akrapovic exhaust. Helping to protect certain body panels is a clear paint protection film.

While the current Ford GT is quite the performance weapon, the owner has barely had the opportunity to enjoy it, only driving it 28 miles (45 km) since taking delivery. The listing doesn’t state whether the car has been routinely turned on over the past five years to keep everything running nice and smoothly but given that it has been owned by a collector and “very loyal client of Ford,” we suspect it’s been well cared for.
RM Sotheby’s predicts it will sell for between $900,000 and $1.1 million.
