If you had $15,000 to invest in a used car, it would undoubtedly be prudent to opt for something reliable. However, what if we were to tell you that this money could be invested in a vehicle that not only assures reliability, but also garners attention and stands out uniquely on the road? That’s exactly what this intriguing Honda Accord-based creation offers.
The car has been listed up for sale on Facebook’s Marketplace and is located in De Soto, Missouri. The seller boldly describes the car the “most reliable Ford in Missouri” and the “best looking Honda,” thanks to a comprehensive set of modifications that give it the appearance of a 1965 Ford Mustang. While both those statements seem a little hyperbolic, it’s definitely unique.

At its core, this doppelganger is built upon the chassis and powertrain of a 2005 Honda Accord. This means it is fitted with the popular 2.4-liter naturally-aspirated K24 four-cylinder engine from the Japanese marque, mated to an automatic transmission. While there don’t seem to be any modifications made to the engine, the listing does mention that the car is riding on coilover suspension at all four corners and has been outfitted with new brake calipers, rotors, and discs.
Then there’s the custom bodywork. While it is unclear if the owner himself crafted the bespoke body panels or if it was done at a shop, it does a surprisingly good job of mimicking the design of an original 1965 Mustang, even if the proportions are all out of whack. For the most part, the cabin is standard Accord but the rear seats have been removed and there is an aftermarket infotainment display in the center of the dash. The door panels have also been altered to look similar to those of a classic Mustang.
Is it worth dropping $15,000 on? We’ll let you be the judge of that.
