The best drivers in the world can’t be totally sure that they’ll make it from point A to point B without incident and that’s because they share the road with other drivers of various skill levels. This short dashcam clip is a stark reminder that even those minding their own business can end up rolling over as the result of another motorist’s bad driving.
This video comes to us from the vehicle of a person driving south of Columbus, Ohio near the small town of Lockbourne. As they travel down State Route 23, a Hyundai Tucson overtakes in the left lane and continues down the road in lane one. The SUV passes a truck and the dashcam car moves into lane one as well.
Just after the cars pass London Groveport Rd, an older Toyota Camry pulls out of the Budget Inn on the right, crosses lane two, and inserts itself directly in front of the Hyundai in lane one. The whole incident happens so fast that the Tucson driver can’t correct or change course. They slam on the brakes but nevertheless, they’re launched up in the air by the contact and roll over to the left.

Amazingly, the Camry appears almost unscathed as the dashcam car drives by. The front driver’s side fender, bumper cover, hood, and headlight all have damage but everything behind that appears untouched.
That demonstrates exactly how an SUV like the Tucson ended up flipping from what otherwise looked like it could’ve been a glancing blow. Hitting a tire often causes a car to lift up into the air as we’ve seen time and time again.
Thankfully, the video poster mentions in the description that everyone involved was okay after the crash. Let this be just one more reminder that some variables on the road, like bad drivers, can’t be fully contained or controlled. Be safe out there everyone.
