The GMC Hummer EV SUV is a real head-turner, but you know what’s an even bigger head-turner? A Hummer EV SUV strapped to a transport trailer that decided to do a little acrobatics and ended up resting on its sides. Now, one dealer will have to practice the art of patience to get their hands on their new high-dollar flagship electric vehicle.
These photos come to us from Jeff Ziegler in Bellevue, WA, where a transport trailer driver evidently took a turn just a little too hot. Jeff told us that the Hummer EV SUV in question appeared to be “an unsold unit”, and we imagine it’ll stay that way for a bit longer. Interestingly, as Jeff pointed out too, the positioning of the SUV might be part of the reason for its downfall.
Somewhat infamously, the Hummer EV weighs a lot. The pickup truck version tips the scales at over 9,000 pounds (4,082 kg). The SUV version somehow actually weighs less, closer to 8,700 pounds (3,946 kg), but either way, this is no dainty vehicle. Placing it near the top of the transport trailer no doubt raised the center of gravity by some margin.

The truck pulling the SUV looks quite badly damaged based on one photo showing the rear fender completely destroyed. One more picture from some time after the crash shows how badly the Hummer fared.
The entire passenger side is crumpled and cracked. The headlight and multiple windows are busted out too. Still, there are a number of parts and pieces that look nearly intact. If the drivetrain survived serious damage it might be worthy of salvage as well. We’ll have to wait to see what it costs if it ever pops up on a salvage auction website.
The GMC Hummer wasn’t the only star of this trailer show. “There was a brand new Mercedes on the load as well. I didn’t catch the Mercedes as it had been hauled off by then. I was just informed that there was one by the tow company,” Jeff shared with us, making it a double feature of mishaps and misadventures on wheels.
