Tesla has removed the Disney+ app from a number of its vehicles after Elon Musk intensified his childish spat with Disney chief executive Bob Iger last month.
Disney stopped advertising on X when Musk agreed with a piece of antisemitic content that was published on the social media platform. While the owner of X and boss of Tesla apologized a week later, he hurled insults at advertisers during an interview with a reporter from The New York Times in late November, telling advertisers to “go f*ck yourself” if they think of blackmailing him with money. He then singled out Bob Iger.
Musk’s beef with Iger and advertisers more broadly on X is now impacting owners of Tesla vehicles with the Disney+ app being removed from the Tesla Theatre if the app hasn’t been used before.
Fortunately, there is an easy workaround. Whole Mars Blog on X has discovered that if you simply open up the web browser on an impacted Tesla model and type in Disney+, it will take you to the Disney+ home screen where you can watch shows and movies as normal. In addition, simply accessing the Disney+ site on the web browser will make the app reappear in the Tesla Theater.
In his November 30 tirade against advertisers, Musk claimed that the ongoing advertising boycott on the X platform could ultimately kill the company.

“What this advertising boycott is going to do, is it’s going to kill the company,” said Musk. “And the whole world will know that those advertisers killed the company, and we will document it in great detail.”
Disney is unlikely to be concerned with their app being removed from the Tesla Theatre by default as it seems unlikely that many Tesla owners will be encouraged to cancel any subscription they may have just because of this.
