This is the latest variant of Great Wall Motor’s Tank 700 and while it looks like something that Mansory has cooked up, it is a production SUV that will be available from GWM dealers across China.

The Tank 700 Hi4-T was unveiled at November’s Guangzhou Auto Show and is a limited edition version of the regular Tank 700. Just 70 examples are heading to the production line and will set back customers 700,000 yuan (~$98,000).  What do you get for your money?

Well, compared to the regular Tank 700, the Hi4-T adopts a much more overt bodykit. This includes a unique bumper with revised air intakes and a front splitter that catches the eye but probably isn’t very suited to off-roading. Great Wall’s designers have also crafted a new hood with a large vent and fitted two LED light bars to the roof, housed within a pronounced cowling.

 This Isn’t A Mansory Special, It’s The GWM Tank 700 Hi4-T

The sides of the Tank 700 Hi4-T aren’t for the faint-hearted either and consist of squared-off arches sitting over a set of unique 22-inch wheels available with silver, black, and gold finishes. The carmaker has then wrapped these wheels in 275/50 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires for added grip and straight-line performance both during acceleration and under braking.

The Mansory influences continue at the rear with a large spoiler on the roof and a menacing diffuser.

No changes have been made to the Hi4-T’s powertrain. As such, it features the same 3.0-liter V6 as the regular Tank 700 that works alongside a small electric motor. The V6 alone is good for 360 hp while the e-motor lifts power to a combined 517 hp. A small ternary battery pack has also been fitted.
