A German company of overlanding components by the name of Terracamper has just unveiled a host of accessories for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Its parts add to the already wide aftermarket support of the G-Wagon and transform it into the ultimate, go-anywhere overlander.
The most obvious upgrade is a large rooftop tent with enough room for two adults to sleep in comfort. This rooftop tent is complemented by a 27-degree awning attached to the side of the roof rack.

Terracamper has then gone to town in the cabin of the G-Class. Changes start with the removal of two of the rear seats, replacing them with a slide-out kitchen featuring a two-burner gas stove, a cutting board, and a spacious cupboard. The cargo area has also been upgraded to accommodate an 8.2-gallon cool box, a 5.28-gallon (20 liters) water canister, and even a dry separation toilet. There is even a small bench seat in the rear that can be easily converted into a bed.
Those willing to venture completely off the grid in their G-Class can also have Terracamper install a solar panel and a 150 amp-hour lithium battery. A handful of other accessories are also available, including an auxiliary heated and LED lights throughout the cabin.
The complete overlanding upgrade will set back customers €11,000 or almost $12,000. Terracamper has showcased its upgrades on a G-Class that has also been equipped with new wheels and tires, a snorkel, and a small ladder on the tailgate, although it doesn’t appear as though the outfitter itself sells these upgrades.
