There are few sports cars as well-rounded as the Porsche 911 Turbo and while the current model is almost perfect, a facelifted version is in the works and shaping up to be even better. The new flagship 911 is expected to be unveiled this year as a 2025 model.
Whereas other 911 Turbo prototypes that we snapped last year were rocking the same front fascia as the outgoing model, this one has been equipped with a host of new parts. The most obvious is the bumper, complete with revised air intakes that appear slightly larger than the current car’s. Each of these intakes has three horizontal slats and hidden behind them appear to be vertical slats that can be opened or closed depending on airflow requirements. Other 992.2 911 models will have similar intakes.

Additionally, we can see that Porsche has equipped the car with its latest matrix LED headlights that feature slightly different daytime running lights than the current model. The final shape of the bumper itself appears to be a work in progress.
Several design tweaks have also been made to the rear of the car. The most obvious change is the repositioning of the tailpipes towards the bumper’s outer edges, which looks to have given Porsche the room to fit a larger diffuser. Porsche’s designers may have also altered the LED taillights but it is hard to know.
Some significant changes are expected under the skin. According to all indications, the 992.2 911 Turbo and Turbo S will be hybrids. While they won’t be plug-in hybrids, a small electric motor and battery pack are expected to supplement the updated 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six.
