In the world of Porsche tuning, RUF has certainly made a name for itself and over decades, the German company has produced some remarkable 911-based models. Getting your hands on one of these cars isn’t particularly easy, however, but fortunately, one has just been listed up for auction through Cars & Bids. Unsurprisingly, it is attracting quite a lot of attention.

This particular RUF is a RT 12 Coupe from 2007 and is based around a 997-generation 911. Interestingly, it does not feature a tuned version of the original engine and instead has the modified six-cylinder of a 996-generation 911 Turbo. This engine has been bored and stroked to now displace 3.8 liters and is coupled with a pair of turbochargers making 650 hp and 642 lb-ft (870 Nm) of torque. This means the 17-year-old RUF has more power than a new 911 Turbo S with its 641 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm).

Helping to ensure the car can brake just as well as it accelerates is a set of carbon ceramic brakes. It also sits on 19-inch RUF Superleggera wheels, has a limited-slip differential, and includes adjustable hydraulic suspension with a front lift system. The listing adds that it also has paint protection film on the front clip, side skirts, and rear fenders and has also had its windows tinted.

Compared to some other RUF creations, this RT12 doesn’t look dramatically different than the standard 911 it is based on. The most obvious exterior change is the fitment of a redesigned front bumper while the rear also sports a new spoiler. The interior is also largely similar to the standard model but there are new gauges, a different steering wheel, RUF-branded shifter, an integrated roll cage, and a Kenwood head unit.

The listing reveals the car has been driven 31,500 miles (50,694 km) and has resided in Texas since it was first delivered.
