KG Mobility, or KGM Motors as it will be known in the UK, has released details about the Torres and Torres EVX that it will launch locally in the coming months.
The ICE-powered Torres will be the cheaper of the two models, although pricing details have not yet been announced. It comes equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter petrol engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. While the automaker formerly known as SsangYong hasn’t announced specifications for this engine in the Torres, we know it produces 161 hp and 206 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque in the Korando. It will initially be sold in front-wheel drive guise but an all-wheel drive version will launch later in the year.
UK buyers will also be able to purchase the Torres in battery-electric guise where it is known as the EVX. This version utilizes a 73.4 kWh battery pack and an electric motor with 201 hp and 250 lb-ft (339 Nm). Power is sent exclusively through the front wheels and the car can travel a claimed 287 miles (462 km) on a single charge. While it’s not particularly powerful by EV standards, buyers will be pleased to know that it supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging capabilities, not something that can be said of many other popular EVs on the market.

Visually, the Torres and Torres EVX are quite similar but the electric version has a thoroughly revised front fascia with an LED light bar, a unique bumper design, and unique headlamps. The EVX is also equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels.
Found in the cabin of both vehicles is a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch central infotainment display supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are plenty of safety features included as standard, like lane-keeping assistance, front and rear parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, and a reversing camera.
