Maserati has announced a new strategic plan, following reports their electrification efforts were stumbling and a future model had been put on ice.

Under the automaker’s latest plan, all models will be “100% designed, developed, and manufactured in Italy.” However, the company is “writing the future of luxury mobility with an ambitious strategy” that involves “developing a comprehensive product plan aimed at electrification, to reflect customer aspirations.”

Maserati said they believe in electric mobility “more than ever” and have plans to launch an assortment of EVs to compliment the Grecale Folgore and GranTurismo Folgore, which are already available in Europe. As part of this effort, a GranCabrio Folgore will be added to the lineup later this year.

The MC20 Folgore will follow in 2025, while an E-segment electric crossover will arrive in 2027. We can then expect a Quattroporte EV in 2028.

Maserati’s Modena plant is slated to receive new investment and facilities as part of the plan. It will also be home to an “Atelier of the Fuoriserie Personalization Program,” which will focus on bespoke vehicles.

Maserati added they are Stellantis’ only luxury brand and are “now setting a strong business model, projecting itself into an electric future to enhance its leading position in the luxury segment by maintaining production volumes and profitable margins in line with its unique brand positioning.”

Those sentiments were echoed by Maserati CEO Davide Grasso, who said “We are going full throttle to lead change on electrification, with two of our iconic models already available for purchase in their 100% electric versions, and another on the way this year. We will offer our preferred customers the most powerful Maseratis ever, pushing the boundaries of driving pleasure to a new era.”
