We’ve seen plenty of intriguing Jeep Cherokee Sports over the years but this example, currently up for auction through Bring a Trailer, is probably the most special one we have ever laid eyes on.

As standard, the Cherokee Sport is quite a capable off-roader, but the owner has decided to turn it into the ultimate snow toy by fitting a set of tracks produced by American Track Truck. These tracks are bolted to the Jeep’s original hubs and feature steel frames, drive drums, bogie wheels, and rubber tracks.

While some modifications have been made to the suspension, the Cherokee Sport retains the original front and rear brakes. The seller will also throw in the original 15-inch wheels wrapped in Dunlop A/T Radial Rover tires that can be presumably bolted on without too many issues.

However, given how high the Jeep sits, you’d probably be hard-pressed to find a jack that could lift it high enough to remove the tracks, meaning a lift is probably needed to fit the original wheels.

A handful of other modifications have been made to the Jeep. These include aftermarket front and rear bumpers, a Warn winch connection, recovery shackles, LED lights, a rear receiver hitch, a rear wiper, and a roof rack.

No changes have been made to the interior nor to the powertrain. As such, the original PowerTech 4.0-liter inline-six is still found beneath the hood and pumps out 190 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque. Drive is sent to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.

The Bring a Trailer listing notes that the truck has been registered in Minnesota since new and currently has 184,000 miles on the clock.
